An H-hook or H clip is used to join the ends of cylindrical and conical tubes on the tube crimping machine. Crimping with this type of technique results in smooth edges on the crimped section. The pleated pack is thus protected from any media damage. The hook or clip does not corrode as compared to spot welded end joints. Hooks or clips do not corrode as much as spots welded together. As a result, the pleated pack is not damaged. In contrast to spot-welded joints, the hook or clip will not corrode.

A sheet of expanded metal can have a thickness of up to 1mm
